A Daily Devotional This Devotional Is Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply. About trying to prove you are good enough for other people… Acts 13:46 Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: "We had to speak the word of God to you first. Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles. (NIV) One minute trying to prove you are good enough for other people is one minute too many. What we must see in this deficient thinking is the person who is trying to prove he or she is good enough for others inherently does not feel worthy in regard to others. In Christ's eyes, once you come to Him in repentance and sorrow, you are more then worthy. In Christ's eyes, you are worth more than all the treasures of the universe. Christ died for you because He believes in your inherent worth and value. The point is…you never have to prove anything to anyone. Unfortunately, you can spend your whole life trying to prove you are worthy when you were already worthy, all the time. Your worth in the eyes of others is never where the focus of your heart and mind should be. The focus of your heart and mind should be upon doing God's will and fulfilling His expectations for your life rather than trying to prove you are good enough for others. |
