A Daily Devotional About victory over poverty… Proverbs 30:8 Keep falsehood and lies far
from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. 9
Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, `Who is the Lord?' Or I
may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God. (NIV) Our true blessings in life are not lands, goods, or finances. Our true blessings in life are all the golden treasures given to us by Christ…treasures given to us both in this life and in our new life to come. The material things of earth determining our earthly poverty or wealth are of no consequence when we live and work for Christ. Our spiritual blessings making life so rich accrue to us because Christ loves us. When we have true spiritual blessings of life, the fear of losing material things does not grip us or enslave us. When we lose material things we must remember to lift up our eyes to God, for in Him is stored the infinite. When the poverty of our present moment takes away our hope, we must remember to open our heart to Christ. In Christ, we find through His touch a new hope and a new freedom from the fear of losing what is already His. |
