A Daily Devotional About vision and where you look… Matthew 6: 28 "And why do you worry
about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.
29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one
of these." (NIV) The beauty and marvels of
God’s wonderful creation are astounding. However, we can be in such a hurry to
get to where we want to go, we see nothing. If we are too caught up in our daily
agenda as we try to make sure every item in our "TO DO" list gets
done, we will not see the beauty of the lilies of the field. There are other
times in our life when life comes to a grinding halt as we miss His beauty. Pain
and suffering rips apart our agenda and binds us. Disasters shred our list of
things to do. What then? What do we do when it seems all is lost and life is
changed forever? At these times, we need to throw away our agendas and our
lists. At these times, we need to look elsewhere. Jesus tells us we are to look
at God and the beauty of His creation. If we can look at God and Christ when
times are dark, there will be a Light in our darkness. If we consider how much
God loves us and cares about us, then we will have no complaints. If all else
fails, when we cannot contact God or sense the presence of Christ in mighty
ways, look at the lilies of the field and He will find you. |
