A Daily Devotional About walking the road with questions and doubts… Matthew 8:26 He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. (NIV) Many of us walk around each day with questions and doubts in our mind. When life throws us curve balls, disappointments, failures, sicknesses, adversities, and obstacles of all kinds, then questions and doubts in our mind are natural. A devout Christian has fewer questions and doubts than a non-believer but questions and doubts are still normal. When we are disappointed in others, disappointed in institutions, or even disappointed in the church, questions and doubts can overtake us. When we are full of questions and doubts, we should respond by being a force for change. When we walk away from the road of Christ’s way, from people, or from circumstances, then our walking away may create more problems than solutions. Trying to escape from the darkness of our reality does not shine a light in the darkness when we walk away. In spite of our questions and doubts, each of us, as Christ’s witness and as God’s child, must be strong enough to stand and deliver His peace, love, and grace on His behalf in spite of our questions and doubts. As we stand and deliver His peace, love, and grace then very soon we will see many of our questions and doubts disappear as we see God’s power working before our eyes. Although you may never get your questions answered or your doubts erased, when you deliver peace, love, and grace to others, after a while your questions and doubts become less and less important as you see God’s power at work. |
