A Daily Devotional About walking with God or against God… Isaiah 30:1 "Woe to the obstinate children," declares the LORD, "to those who carry out plans that are not mine, (NIV) We have this erroneous idea about God not always liking people. Some people ask how could a loving God punish people or let people suffer. In addition, we unfortunately want to have our own way, be our stubborn selves, and get the blessings of God, all at the same time. If you imagine God as wind, you can walk against the wind or you can walk with the wind at your back. Only a stubborn child who always wanted his or her own way would ever walk against the wind. Walking against the wind, after a while, would begin to wear you down. Over time, the force of the wind blowing against you will take you down in body, mind, and spirit. Walking against the wind would be foolish when you could walk with the wind at your back. However, we are often foolish in our life. The spiritual laws of God work and these laws show us we have a choice about whether we walk with God or against God. |
