A Daily Devotional About wanting to pray Luke 11:1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples." (NIV) You can speak to God in His language. There is no trick to speaking to God, and no special method or secret knowledge is necessary. Just send Him a note from your heart without trying to find words. Words so often get in the way. To really have God alive and living in your life you do not need words because He knows what you need, what you mean, how you feel, and what you want to say before you think. So, when you want to really have Him touching you, do not bother with words, just use your heart. To speak to God in His language requires you fully trust Him. When you send your love message to God, your getting the message to God depends upon your trusting God to receive the message. For some people, trust or faith in God is seemingly automatic. For these people, they have no doubt God surely receives their gift of love and appreciation. For other people, however, they do not truly believe in God. They do not truly trust God really loves them, hears them, or even cares about them. Still others do not care about God in any way. For this latter group, their future and fate is sealed in darkness unless they repent or turn away from their present way of thinking about Christ their Savior. |
