A Daily Devotional About when the truth brings fear…. Isaiah 9:2 The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. (NIV) We are so often afraid of the truth. When it comes to the truth, it is as if we choose not to look so we will not see…even when we know what is to be seen…even if we know what we will see when we see the truth…we do not want to look at the truth because of our fear, our trepidation, even our terror. Because we fear the truth, we put the truth out of our minds and look intently the other way. The truth about the truth is there is no reason to fear. There is no reason to fear the truth because if you are willing to be with God, God is always willing to with you. If you are willing to be guided by God then God will always guide you. When you open your heart, your life, and your soul to God then any truth can be faced. With God, any truth can be dealt with in a constructive way and we need not fear what the truth can do to us. We need not be afraid of the truth because there is an ultimate truth, a truth that is above all truths, and this ultimate truth is we are loved by God. The ultimate truth is we are in the palm of God's hand. Even when it seems the truth will most certainly terrorize us, rip us apart, and destroy us forever, the ultimate truth remains that God loves us in immeasurable and uncountable ways. The truth above all truths is God loves us so much He sent His only Son to die for us so we would someday be able to live in Heaven where there is the glory and power of living in the truth. |
