A Daily Devotional When you have no power: Matthew 5:3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (NIV) We all want some
kind of power. We all want the power to change our life or we want the power to
remain as we are. We all want the power to deal with adversity. We want the
power to make others cause our adversity to go away. Power runs in two
directions. Power can be used to get us out of our circumstances or keep us in our
circumstances. We can use power to help ourselves, help others, or refuse help.
We can use power in inappropriate ways. We can use power to hurt others and keep
others down. We can use power to selfishly inflate our ego. When we have no
power we must confront one of the great truths of life. The great truth is that
life sometimes takes us on a journey we do not want. Eventually, life takes us
on a journey to death. Life is often filled with illusion. What we see
is not what is there. What we do not see is there. We cannot see God yet He is
the power source of all creation. When we think we have no power, we do have
power because we have God in the form of Christ living within us. |
