A Daily Devotional This Devotional Is Related To Dependency And Co-dependency Issues. Rules Of Godly Common Sense Apply. About wishing good things would happen to you Acts 20:35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: "It is more blessed to give than to receive." (NIV) In our times of darkness, especially when our troubles seem to never end, we wish good things would happen to us. However, we must be very cautious in "wishing" because all of us need to live in an active world where we take action on our troubles rather than just wishing things will get better. When you start wishing good things would happen to you, try to find ways to change your world or circumstances. When you want good things to happen to you, in anonymous ways, try to make good things happen for others. Getting active when we start wishing empowers us with God's love and might. In ways we do not understand, God arranges our life so what we give away comes back to us. If we give nothing away, we get nothing in return. If we give bad things away, we get bad things in return. If we give good things away, we get good things in return. When we start wishing for good things to happen, we must use God's "laws of return" to make things better for ourselves and better for others by giving good things away. |
