A Daily Devotional About working for the honor of Christ John 7:18 He who speaks on his own does so to
gain honor for himself, but he who works for the honor of the one who sent him
is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him. (NIV) When we are speaking words to bring honor, respect, and love for Christ the Son, we are calling attention to Christ, not ourselves. We must be very careful to leave ourselves out of any words we use when we represent Christ and His wonderful truth. Satan wants us to draw attention to ourselves rather than to Christ. When we whine, complain, and go begging we are not leading others to the beautiful love of God. Instead, we are keeping others from seeing Christ and His redeeming love. Ideally, when we work for Christ, we must not exist as a person. In His service, all our personal wants, needs, and desires must be set aside. |
