A Daily Devotional
About your daily
witness… Isaiah 58:9 "If you do away with the
yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, 10 and if you
spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the
noonday. (NIV) Today, God sends you out
into the world to be His missionary. Do not be alarmed when you are persecuted.
Do not be surprised when others think ill of you or speak unkind things about
you. The world you live in is full of darkness, pain, and suffering. People are
more lost now than ever before. Too often, they do not want to hear about our
Lord's redeeming love. Too often, they do not want to hear about how Christ died
for them. Too often, they want to live in their sin and their sickness while
rejecting His wonderful cures. Therein rests Christ's mission for you. In your
daily walk, perhaps you are not permitted to speak about the wonders of our
Lord. However, you can show His love. Perhaps you must remain silent about His
forgiveness. However, you can show His forgiving love in small and tiny ways so not
to offend. Perhaps you are not permitted to quote from His Proverbs. However, you
can sprinkle the salt of His wisdom in your conversation. You can pour out His
living water with your smile and handshake. You can be patient with the person
so frightened and disturbed they do not know where to turn for help. |
