A Daily Devotional About your importance to Christ… Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is
Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will
mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn
between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;
24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. 25 Convinced of
this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your
progress and joy in the faith, 26 so that through my being with you again your
joy in Christ Jesus will overflow on account of me. (NIV) Carrying your cross of suffering for Christ
makes you more than valuable in His eyes. In your life, there will nearly always
be hardship. Living life the right way can also bring the hardship of
persecution. Most often, the easy way is the sinful way. The difficult way is
the way of Christ. The difficult way is the way of carrying His cross. When you
are willing to bear His cross, then your unselfish faithfulness will reach the
hearts of many others through Him. Christ calls us to pray for others so He can
open the door of their heart to let His love pour in. Your unselfish bearing of
His cross helps Christ reach out and touch souls now lost. Your willingness to
suffer in Christ's name is your offering of your life to Him. Suffering for
Christ is a decision of your free will. In your pain, you can turn against
Christ and lash out at Him. However, when you do not lash out at Christ but love
Him with all your heart, all your soul, and all your might, even in your
suffering, your faithful act glorifies God in ways you cannot know or
comprehend. |
