A Daily Devotional

About blessed meekness…

Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. (NIV)

The proud and ego filled people want the earth, and they think they own the earth, but do they? Meekness in the eyes of God should have a primary place in your life. Meekness produces benefits and blessings. Meekness in God's eyes brings you closer to Him. Pride and ego separates you from God and from relishing and appreciating the earth. An ego filled person cannot see the sunset or the clipper ships of clouds sail across the sky because they are wrapped up in themselves. God rewards the meek by giving them their surroundings in a fashion of ownership escaping the consciousness of most people.
