About
Christ's suffering upon the cross and your finances:
Luke 21:1 As he looked up, Jesus saw the
rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. 2 He also saw a poor widow
put in two very small copper coins. 3 "I tell you the truth," he said,
"this poor widow has put in more than all the others. 4 All these people
gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she
had to live on." (NIV)
Luke 21:1 And he looked up, and saw the
rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. 2 And he saw also a certain poor
widow casting in thither two mites. 3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you,
that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all: 4 For all these have of
their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath
cast in all the living that she had. (KJV)
In
many respects, putting your finances in the same sentence as
Christ's suffering upon the cross is ungodly. What we must understand is no matter what we
go through with our finances, whether we are wealthy, whether we live in
poverty, or whether we live in a financial state between wealth and poverty, we
must always understand our finances are temporary. Our finances are temporary
because our life is temporary. As much as we might want or need money, our money
will cease to exist when we die. After we die, no matter how much or how little
money we have when we are alive, we will have no need for money. Christ's
suffering upon the cross should always stand between you and your finances. For
every worry you have about your money, with Christ's suffering upon the cross in
the foreground, His suffering puts you and your financial worries in the
background. When you write a check or use your credit card, you must see
Christ's suffering upon the cross as being in a place where you have to
physically reach around the foot of the cross to write a check or use your
credit card.
If you had to physically reach around Christ's suffering upon the cross to do anything regarding your finances, your finances and your financial worries would be drastically different.
