About God's storage building:

1 Peter 1:4 �an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you, 5who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. (NIV)

Our family garage is a storage building. We have a small house, and we do not want to get rid of family heirlooms. Our son may want this "stuff." Plus, there is a lot of other "stuff" out in the garage too good to throw away. In addition, my son and I are sort of pack rats who never throw anything out. For us, a garage is a place to store "stuff," not just a place to park cars. Eventually, all this "stuff" will "fade away" or be thrown out. The "stuff" will all break down, or be recycled. The wonderful news is the real stuff of life is stored away in heaven where it will never spoil, fade, or rust. In heaven, there is no fixing, no breaking, and no repairing. In heaven, everything is always brand new. Guarantees in heaven are not needed because there is no breaking down or wearing out. By keeping the faith, maintaining our life in holiness, and surrendering our will to Christ, we will be surrounded by our heavenly "stuff" on the first day of our eternity.
