About losing yourself in Christ:
Philippians 3:8 .What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ--the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. 10 I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. (NIV)
You might have had the experience of losing yourself in some project, in watching an engrossing movie, or in watching your favorite sports team compete for a winning score. We find we can commonly lose ourselves in the activities of our life. When you love someone, you also lose part of yourself in the love you have for the person. When you love Christ, you also lose part of yourself in your love for Him. Losing yourself in Christ when you love Him is by His design and by His will. God's will is for you to lose the part of yourself tempted by evil. God's will is for you to replace the lost part of yourself tempted by evil with His mercy, with His love, and with His forgiveness. To find and keep God's mercy, love, and forgiveness, you must turn away from or lose the part of yourself attracted to evil and darkness. Because God loves you, He will never ever let you be lost in your life if you want to be found by Him. When you lose yourself in Christ, you discover you have found the totality of the infinite kingdom of God and all the love any of us could comprehend.For A Fast, Complete Search Of
