About making our life secure:

Psalm 16:5 Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup; you have made my lot secure.

We go to extreme lengths to make our life secure. We buy insurance, we store things up for a rainy day, we save our money, we secure our property, we take many measures to secure our lot in life. However, none of us is really secure in life because we will all die in the end. Truthfully, we are secure in our life only when we have Christ as our Lord and Savior. When we have Christ's security in our heart, all of the material "things" of life, all the material things we treasure too much, become just added fluff. When we are secure in Christ, our heart overflows in thanksgiving for even the smallest of blessings. When we are secure in Christ, we are calm, more at peace, and more able to handle the inevitable adversities in our daily grind.
