About a pure heart:

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. (NIV)

Your Lord desires you have a pure heart. He wants you to be cleansed of all the dark thoughts you might think. When you kneel at the Cross, Christ will banish your dark thoughts, anger, and resentment you might have stored up within you. At the foot of His Cross, at the place where He suffered so much and died for you, you can pour out all of the darkness residing within you. At Christ's Cross you find His love in His sacrifice. At the Cross, your heart will be touched so there is no darkness within you. At the Cross, His Light and Love pour over you. The Lord's will and desire for you is to put away all the lust of your heart for things not of God. The Lord desires you have within you a hunger to be humble in His sight. The Lord desires you come to Him with a spirit within you wanting to push out all things worldly and selfish. When your heart is tempted by desires destroying your love for God, then turn your heart away from temptations. In times of trial and temptation, speak to Christ and listen to His mighty and loving voice. When you start to fall, reach up to Him.
