Revenge belongs to God. The ways of God are sometimes mysterious. When we move away from God then bad things happen. When we move toward God then good things happen. When we take out our lust for vengeance against those who committed wrongs against us we are moving away from God. Yet, we still have responsibilities in this world to protect our family, our state, and our nation. When we act to stop evil, the content of our heart is the deciding factor in whether we are with God or against God. When someone hurts us on purpose and intends to hurt our friends, family, state, or nation, then this person who aims to hurt must be stopped. The ultimate Judge over every human act is God.
