About your reward…

Psalm 63:11 Once God has spoken, twice I have I heard this: that power belongs to God: 12 and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you (reward) a man according to his work.      (Parenthesis added.)

Many people who never attend church have hearts of gold. These people are dedicated to helping others. They pour out their hearts, their time, and their energies to serve people who are less fortunate. For many reasons, they shy away from being a part of the Christian faith or any faith. If you are one of these people, the Psalmist has both reassuring words and a call to spiritual action. The call to action is that your reward is based not just on what you do for mankind, but upon whether you integrate the strength, power, and love of God into every part of your being and into every part of your life. All of us want a big reward. Most of us would like a bigger reward than we deserve. But God is totally just. Only God can look into every corner of your heart and see the total and all-encompassing "real you." God does ask every person every day, "Do you love me? Do you understand what I did for you by sending my Son into the world? Do you understand my truths? Are you willing to follow me? Are you willing to follow my beloved Son? And if you are willing to follow, how far will you go? What price will you pay to follow me and my beloved Son who died for you?" And what will your answer be today? Integrating the strength, power, and love of God is something you do in action and become in spirit. Integrating the strength, power, and love of God in all parts of your life is spiritual work. This integration is also part of God’s reward-giving criteria.
