About worldly objectives and spiritual objectives:

Luke 12:29 And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it. 30 For the pagan world runs after all such things, and your Father knows that you need them. 31 But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. (NIV)

The Lord Jesus knows about you and about your life. He knows how you are attracted and distracted by the things of the world. Christ knows about our difficulties. Christ knows we worry about food, water, and "things" of earth. However, in the kingdom of God there is at work a law of inverse proportions. The more you want and the more you run after the things of the world the less of these things you end up having. Human greed puts people in jail or at a minimum puts their heart into the burning pits of hell. If we stop running after the things of this world, we can focus our spiritual eyes on the kingdom of God within us. Then we will be persons of peace, love, and charity. Consequently, persons of peace, love, and charity never lack for the real things of life, or for any of life's essentials.
