A Prayer Of Praise About Christ As A Constant
Friend
Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God,
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
O, Lord Jesus, Precious One, Precious All In All
You are my faithful friend.
Of all the relationships I have now or will ever have in the future, I
know you stand by me night and day, through every moment of my sadness,
and through every moment of may joy.
You have seen me at my worst.
You have seen me at my best.
Yet you did not waver or walk away no matter what I did or how I acted.
You have been with me in my poverty and in my plenty.
You have stood by me when I ran away from you, ran away from your truths,
and ran away from your love.
When circumstances tried to take me down, you were there to encourage me
to keep going, to keep striving, to push on.
When I fell down, you were there to pick me up.
When I was full of my ego because of a personal victory, you were there
with me waiting on me to come back down to earth to be your humble child
again.
When I thought I had enough of my personal power to last me forever, you
knew better but you remained by my side and did not forsake me.
When I was in poverty and terrified of what would happen to me along with
the ones I love, you came and comforted me, you took away my fear, and you
helped me see the light to a new and brighter day.
When I was successful and I turned away from you because I did not think I
needed you any longer, you were constant in loving me. You were patient
with me until I saw the truth about how I need you every hour.
When the darkness came into my life and tried to destroy me, you were the
light helping me battle my way back.
When it seemed I would be defeated and go down in humiliation, you came
and showed me your nail-scared hands so I could see the real victory is
not of this life.
When I thought I was alone, you came and reminded me you were with me, you
had not forgotten me, and you would love me forever.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely. Amen |
