A Prayer To Stand In The Shadow Of The Cross During The Desperate Hours Of Tragedy

Most Precious Lord Jesus�
Gentle And Wonderful God�
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit�
I stand in your love and I stand in the shadow of your cross.
Right now I am pretty wobbly.
I need your strength and power just to keep going for the next few moments.
I am in the middle of a terrible time and in the middle of a terrible disaster.
What I thought I knew I am now not sure about.
What I thought I believed I am beginning to wonder about.
What I see in others I wish I did not see.
Personally, I am weak and I need your strength and power.
Personally, I am under threat and the evil I see can invade my space at any moment and take my life.
Those I thought I could depend upon I now find are not dependable.
My whole world has gone crazy.
I am on my own with no one to help me but you.
As I stand in the shadow of your cross�
May I always be who you want me to be.
As I stand in the shadow of your cross�
May I always walk in your ways.
As I stand in the shadow of your cross�
May I always make the kind of decisions you would have me make.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
