A Prayer About The Endless Circle Of
God's Promises
Most Precious Lord Jesus
Gentle And Wonderful God
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit
I praise your holy name for in my calamities you have rescued me.
In my troubles you have come to smooth my troubles over so I count them
only as waters gone by.
In my day of trouble you have kept me safe in your dwelling, you hid me in
the shelter of your arms, and you set me high upon a rock.
In my weeping of the nighttime you brought me joy in the morning.
In my downcast soul you put your hope in me so I would praise you as my
Savior and Lord.
In my trials you gave me your compassion as a father has compassion upon
his children.
In my suffering you brought me your comfort.
In my hopelessness your promises preserved my life.
In the midst of my trouble you stretched out your hand against the anger
of my foes.
With your right hand you saved me.
In my old age with my gray hairs, you sustain me.
You formed me before I was born and you still carry me.
As you provide for those who grieve in Zion, as you bestow upon them a
crown of beauty instead of ashes, you pour over me the oil of your
gladness in the times of my mourning.
You wrap around me a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
In my grief, you plant me as an oak of righteousness, a planting of your
very own for the display of your splendor.
In my distress the angel of your presence saves me.
In your love and mercy you redeem me.
You lift me up and carry me like one of those of the days of old.
In my mourning I feel your blessed love and I am comforted.
In my broken heart I find your love and I trust in you, O Lord Jesus,
Savior of us all.
And I know in all things you work for my good and the good of all those
who love you, who have been called according to your sweet purpose.
Therefore, in all my distress and persecution, I am encouraged because of
the faith of the martyrs and saints.
And I shall not remain ignorant about those who fall asleep, for I have
hope in you, O my precious Lord Jesus.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
Amen
