A Prayer To Multiply Your Treasures

Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
When I was a young man�
I wanted money.
I wanted power.
I wanted lands.
I wanted furniture.
I wanted cars.
I wanted houses.
I wanted all these things.
But I am older now.
My hair is gray and my skin is wrinkled.
I know in my heart all these things I wanted are just things.
I know the things I wanted do not bring happiness or peace.
I know in my heart how things can possess me and own me more than I can possess and own them.
O, how I love your peace pulling me up above the material things of earth.
O, how I love your helping me appreciate all you have created.
If I had money and lost you, I would be poor.
If I had power and lost you, I would be powerless.
If I had lands and lost you, I would have nowhere to roam.
If I had furniture and lost you, I would have nothing upon which to rest my head.
If I had cars and I lost you, I would have no place to go.
If I had houses and I lost you, I would have no place to live.
So in your great wisdom, love, grace, and mercy, keep me with you and never let go of me.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely. Amen
