A Prayer About The Pain Christ Bore For You On The Cross

Precious Father,
Precious Lord Jesus,
Wonderful Holy Spirit,
Part of me does not want to know about the pain you took to the cross for me.
I would rather leave your sacrifice alone and let your sacrifice be in some dark far off place without any connection to me.
However, to fully have your Light in my heart and life, I must know about the actual pain you suffered for me.
Open my heart and life to your suffering for me.
Open my heart and life to the burdens you bore to make me free.
Take my knowledge about your suffering beyond just my mind.
Remind me daily to seek just a glimpse of your suffering on the cross for me.
Help me grow and realize what you suffered was to save me.
Help me grow and realize what you suffered was because you love me.
Help me more fully know your love for methe love so profound you suffered because you love me so.
Help me see you and see your sacrifice in new ways.
Help me see how you took all of my mistakes, burdens, hopes, dreams, sufferings, pains, worries, grief, beliefs, whims, sins, thoughts, words, and deeds to the cross.
Help me see how you sacrificed yourself so I could have a chance at immortality in Heaven with you.
Whenever I pray, remind me, according to my ability to accept and comprehend, the dimensions of your suffering.
If it is your will, pierce my conscience and show me how you were tortured, maimed, beaten, flogged, and humiliated in ways beyond human reason.
Let me be willing to believe.
Let me be touched by your most beautiful truth that you love me.
In the name of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit who lives within me and touches me,
Amen
