A Prayer About The Promise Of A Better Life
Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And
Ever-present Holy Spirit,
I want my life to be better.
I want a better home.
I want a better car.
I want better furniture.
I want better health.
I want better relationships.
I want. I want. I want. I want.
Oh, Precious Jesus, I love you.
However, I am ashamed.
I am ashamed to say, "I want. I want. I want. I want."
I am ashamed to say these words because I am selfish in saying these
words.
How sinful of me to say these words.
How ignorant of me to say these words.
For what I need, rather than what I want, is you.
I need you, Lord.
I may want worldly things, but what I need is your love and presence to be
over me, under me, and all around me.
I may want worldly things, but I know in an instant, in a flash, in a
micro-second, all the worldly things of my life will disappear and then
you and I will see each other face to face.
And when we see each other face to face, all the wants of my present life
will be gone.
When we see each other face to face, instead of all the wants of my
present life, I will find a treasure of love, peace, and joy the measure
of which I cannot express with my words.
For my future treasure in Heaven, the measure of which I cannot know, I
give you praise, I give you honor, and I give you glory as much as I am
able.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
Amen. |
