A Prayer For Self-control To Resist
Compulsive Spending
Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God,
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
Whenever I suffer from the attacks of Satan and I want to spend money for
no apparent reason, help me be self-controlled so I resist this terrible
urge to spend money.
Whenever I feel the need to spend money, especially spend money I do not
have, remind me to call upon you and call upon your angels to be my armor,
shield, and protector.
Whenever I lose my self-control and want to spend money, bring me to the
foot of your cross in humility.
Whenever I lose my self-control and want to spend money, make me kneel
down before your suffering upon the cross so I can see my trials are
nothing compared to your suffering.
In every hour, let me always resist temptation.
In every hour, let me build a strong and mighty defense against
temptation.
In every hour, let me push harder against Satan than Satan pushes against
me.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
