A Prayer During Times Of Disappointment

Precious Lord Jesus, Wonderful God, Empowering Holy Spirit,
My disappointment comes against me.
Yet, I know if I give you this moment you will inspire me to see past this setback.
My earthly plans and dreams have been dashed,
However, I know you are in all things and hope reigns where you are present.
My eyes are downcast as I have received bad news,
However, I know you are all goodness, light, joy, and hope.
Please show me the folly of my ways�show me the folly of what I wanted and now may not have
Please show me the real hope of life is not in achieving what I want, but show me the real hope is resting in your spirit.
I am crushed for the moment.
However, I know you are tugging at my heart.
I know you want me to look up and see you upon the Cross.
Because of you, in this darkness, there is a transforming energy waiting to fall upon me.
In every distress, there is your great unseen hand reaching down touching my heart.
In every trial, you stand ready to show me the magnitude of your love.
Tomorrow is a new day made by you.
Tomorrow new hope waits to fill me.
Help me be humble and not follow the folly of my own ways.
Touch my heart to follow you and follow your footsteps leading me to glory.
Show me the real glory of life is not in achieving my selfish hopes and dreams.
Show me the real glory is possible only when I live out your hopes for me.
All these things I pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
