A Prayer For A Time When God Says "No" With Love

Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
I try to do what you want me to do.
I try to be obedient and not do what you do not want me to do.
I have selfish wants and needs.
I have selfish pleas and petitions I want to make.
I have many requests.
I try not to bring my selfish needs to you but instead bring the needs of those people on my prayer list each day.
However, I would like your blessings and your hand to take away the many trials I face each day.
Yet many times, you tell me "No".
Yet many times, you tell me I cannot have what I want.
Yet many times, you tell me I must suffer on until my life is over.
O Lord, I am not so exasperated with you, as I am frustrated with you.
I know when you tell me "No", it is because you love me.
Sometimes it is hard for me to accept that when you love me you will still not help me like I want to be helped.
However, I know you do your good and wonderful work in my life in ways I do not recognize and in ways I may find puzzling or painful.
So as it pleases you, when you tell me "No", help me to open my heart up to your love.
When you tell me "No", touch my heart and help me understand more fully that "No" can mean love.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can rely.
