A Prayer For Wisdom To Count The Cost
Precious Lord Jesus, wonderful God, empowering Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord, thank you for giving your life for my life.
Thank you for being present in my life even when I do not realize you are
here.
Thank you for placing your guiding hand upon me and upon those I pray for
each day.
Lord, I am blind to many things in life.
I see you but I see you in ways I do not understand.
If it is your will, show me the entanglements of my spiritual life so I
may know what you expect of me.
If you do not want me to know the future, help me survey the wonders of
your love.
Help me survey the cost of what you want me to build for you.
I can count the cost of financial things, but I am sometimes blind to the
cost of doing your will.
If you do not want me to know what the cost will be to follow you, then I
will trust you and live out each day under your will.
If the cost to follow you is too overwhelming and you want to keep those
things hidden from me, I will humbly follow you and do your will as much
as I am able.
Like in times past, those of us who follow you must pay a price.
If you will it, help me build up today so I may follow you more intently
tomorrow.
Help me pay any price to follow you and do your will.
Give me the humility to accept your will and joyfully accept the price I
must pay to be your child.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of the Father, the Son, and the
Holy Spirit. Amen. |
