A Daily Devotional About becoming a faithful friend Revelation 2:25 Only hold on to what you have until I come. 26 To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations-(NIV) You become a faithful friend to someone when you are with this person through thick and thin, through prosperity and poverty, through success and failure. Being faithful requires you keep and grasp ahold of something. Being a faithful friend means you keep and grasp ahold of another person's needs and you keep these needs larger than your own needs. To be faithful means you never let go. When you are a faithful friend, you never let go of your concern, compassion, and love for another person. True faithfulness means once you have grasp ahold of another person's needs, hopes, and dreams, you never back away or move away from the person. True faithfulness means you become totally connected to another person, thus, any self-interest and any selfishness on your part is gone forever. True faithfulness means you have emotionally pledged yourself or made an agreement with another person to never walk away, never back away, and never leave them. |
