blaming others for the spot you are in: Hebrews
12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who
for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down
at the right hand of the throne of God. (NIV) It is easy to point our finger at others, to blame others, and to try and make others responsible for the difficulty of our life. Blaming others is easier accepting we are in the mess we are in because of our action or inaction. If we feel weak or helpless, we do not feel strong enough to shoulder our responsibilities. We most effectively conquer our difficulties only when we accept we are the ones who can conquer our difficulties. Before Christ went to the cross, He did not blame us for the horror He was about to endure. Instead of blaming us, He went to the cross willingly knowing our sin was putting Him on the cross. Christ went to the cross and He willingly paid the price for our sin without rancor, bitterness, or wanting retribution for what He endured for us. He did not and does not blame us for the cross. He loves us too much to blame us. Likewise, when we love others in strength and in His power, we do not blame others for our difficulties. As persons of faith, God empowers us to get out of the difficulties we face without blaming others for the difficulties. |
