A Christmas Devotional About Christ's gift of compassion: 2 Corinthians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, (NIV) During every day of the year, we need Christ and His compassion. None of us can ever give a gift to another person as healing as compassion. In your life, Christ continually gives you the gift of His compassion. You, like everyone else, need Him and in His compassion He is with you every hour. Although you cannot see Him with your eyes, He is with you and you can see Him with your heart. Christ's gift of compassion lets you know He is with you through every trial. His compassion lets you know His love is within you. Christ's gift of compassion enables you to open your heart to receive His love. As a consequence, you know His presence is within you. His compassion in your heart lets you see the needs and suffering of those around you. Then, if you pray and fast, Christ's compassion can flow out of you to all the people you know. Christ's compassion can open the door of your heart so you can more fully know about His pain, trauma, and sacrifice upon the cross. When your heart hurts, Christ's touch will help you reach out to help others when their heart hurts. When you see unfilled needs in the weak, feeble, and lame, Christ's compassion touches you so you reach out to them and love them in healing ways. |
