A Christmas Devotional About our joy in His purpose: Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. (KJV) Jesus was born unto you for a personal reason. The personal reason Jesus was born is so you would have a purpose in your life. At Christmastime, we stop to worship, reflect, and rejoice because with Christ living and alive in our life, we have a purpose for living. In addition, we have a purpose for being, and we have a purpose larger than ourselves. Our purpose in life is to move forward in our life, to keep moving in spite of our many trials, and to love God with all our heart, all our soul, and all our might. Our purpose in living is to give rather than receive. Our purpose in living is to put others before ourselves. Christ's birth gave us a purpose for living. Because we have His purpose for living in our heart, we have joy in spite of our poverty, we have joy in spite of our pain, and we have joy in spite of every hardship. We have joy in our purpose for living because we know we are spiritually invincible and we will live forever in Christ's love. |
