A Christmas Devotional About when Christmas comes unglued: Psalm 139:7 Where can I go from your
Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to the heavens, you
are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9 If I rise on the
wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your
hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. (NIV) Things can come unglued around the holidays. Everyone can get in a rush to get things done and then something happens to upset all the plans. Things break, things get lost, people get sick, cars go into the shop for too many repairs, or worse. Christmas is a special time and we often go to great lengths to make sure everything is done and all things are put in the right place at the right timebut plans and things can come unglued. When things come unglued we tend to forget about what all the fuss was supposed to be about. Christmas is supposed to be our great time of joy and remembrance. Our Christmas joy is about how God saw fit to send His son to us as a newborn baby. Things coming unglued are of no significance compared to the power of God's love and the power of the meaning of Christ's birth. Major things coming unglued to upset our plans mean nothing compared to why Christ was born. Even if all our plans crumble, and everything we want to happen comes unglued, all the joy Christ brought cannot be erased. Even if bad things happen, all the peace Christ brought to fill our hearts can never be diminished if we keep our hearts on Him. |
