A Daily Devotional About true faith 1 Peter 1:6 though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7These have come so that your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire--may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. (NIV) Suffering and grief are a reality in life. True faith stands the test of time as well as every other test. A faith here today and gone tomorrow is not genuine. Faith vanishing at the first instance of temptation, fear, or testing is not true faith. True faith is rock solid and unmoving. True faith may need to last a lifetime and may not produce an earthly result until Christ is revealed. True faith may last a lifetime of 80 years and may never be recognized by anyone but Christ. However, most importantly, true faith always produces a result. The result may not be visible, tangible, or reportable but there is always a result when we keep the true faith. |
