A Prayer About The Foolishness Of Worldly Success

Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God, Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Precious Lord Jesus, I love you.
I so much want to be successful in the world.
I have been willing to work long hours and dedicate myself to doing whatever it takes to reach the top of the mountain we call success.
Yet there is within me a longing for something more.
There is within my heart a voice telling me earthly success is foolishness.
There is within my heart a voice, your voice, O Lord, calling me to be successful for you rather than being successful in the world for myself.
In your love, show me even when I attain earthly success my earthly success will only be temporary.
In your love, show me the foolishness of trying to climb the mountain of worldly success.
In your love, show me worldly success will someday fade away as I float up to see you when my life on earth is over.
According to your will, help me surrender all my earthly ambitions to your will for me.
All these things I humbly pray.
