The
Will Of God
1
John 2:17
The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of
God lives forever. (NIV)
Psalms
143:10 Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good
Spirit lead me on level ground. (NIV)
Matthew
6:10 your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (NIV)
We
all have a will of our own needing to be subverted to the will of God.
Our will, given its own way, leads us into adversity, pain, and
suffering. God's will, if we give His will leadership in our life, leads
us into His Light and love. Sickness is not the will of God. Death is
not the will of God. Disease is not the will of God. Isolation is not
the will of God. Imprisonment is not the will of God. Desperation is not
the will of God. Hopelessness is not the will of God. Consumption by the
darkness is not the will of God. The will of God is wellness. The will
of God is life everlasting. The will of God is the absence of all
disease. The will of God is total unity with others in love. The will of
God is freedom. The will of God is unending hope. The will of God is
living forever in His light. In every second of your life you can point
your will in the direction of wellness, in the direction of life
everlasting, in the direction of absence of disease, in the direction of
total unity with others in love, in the direction of freedom, in the
direction of unending hope, and in the direction of living forever in
His light. Where you point your will is a choice you can make. Where you
point your will is under your control. Therefore, when the darkness of
sickness comes, instead of being a passive victim, point your will in
the direction of wellness. When the darkness of death comes, instead of
being a passive victim, point your will in the direction of eternal life
with Christ. When the darkness of disease comes, instead of being a
passive victim, point your will in the direction of the absence of
disease. When isolation comes, instead of being a passive victim, point
your will in the direction of togetherness with others in love. When
desperation comes, instead of being a passive victim, point your will in
the direction of God's power. When hopelessness comes, instead of being
a passive victim, point your will in the direction of God's unending
hope. Where are you going to point your will today?
Thinking Points About
God's Will
-
Today
and tomorrow, find out what others want and help them fill these
wants within the will of God.
-
Love
delights only in doing good, in doing the will of God, in giving, in
sharing, in extending out the power of life to others.
-
If
you want to win by doing the will of God you have to know His rules
and play by His rules.
-
When
we think about the will of God, we already know on a minute to
minute basis we are to kneel at the foot of the Cross, while
displaying His love and compassion to the world.
-
Pain
and love can only productively go together by the force of your will
aligned with God's will.
-
You
must be relentless in doing God's will.
-
We
know what God's will is when we are confronted with temptation. When
confronted with temptation, what we do next is crucial to show
Christ how much we love Him.
-
Tragically,
we tell ourselves we are doing God's will, even when we are doing
not His will but our will.
-
If
we exert our heart, mind, and soul we can know God's will for us on
a second by second basis.
-
God's
goal for your life is the same as God's will for your life.
-
You
may want to do God's will when doing His will is easy, painless, and
enjoyable. However, will you do His will when doing His will is
difficult, painful, or life-threatening?
-
God's
will is for you to give Him the primary role in guiding and
directing your life.
-
Another
way of expressing God's goal for you is to speak about God's will
for you.
-
Fear
is not always a bad thing, especially if we have the fear of
opposing God's will.
-
Jesus
was born to make God's will your will.
-
We
can know what God's will for us is when we come to deal with other
persons, when we come to deal with Him, and when we are confronted
with sin and corruption.
