A Prayer For A Little Child
O most gracious Father, most wonderful Lord Jesus, take
this child into your heart.
Put your arms around this small person and help heal the hurts both past
and future.
Give this child your protection forever and ever.
In your love and mercy, give this child a shield keeping away the darkness
and evil.
In your kindness, give this child a full measure of your power.
In your beaming radiance, give this child a future grounded upon the hope
and promise flowing from you to the innermost part of this child's heart.
When this child grows, give this child a full knowledge of your sacrifice
upon the Cross.
When this child feels hurt coming from others, instill in this little
heart a resounding forgiveness.
When there is hunger in this child, fill that hunger with your manna.
When there is thirst in this child, quench the thirst with your Living
Water.
In this child's life, when there is sadness, pour out your joy.
When there is loneliness, pour out your presence.
All these things I pray so you will hear me and do great works for this
little child.
In the name of the Father, and in the name of our Blessed Savior, Jesus
Christ.
