A Prayer For Godly Speech

O Precious Savior, Wonderful Lord, In-filling Holy Spirit
I cannot truly tell you how much I love you.
You are my resource when things seem chaotic.
You are my strength when times seem to turn against me.
Thank you for the freedom of thought I enjoy.
Thank you for the ability to express my love for you.
Thank you for the abundance of words, languages, and cultures that blanket the earth.
In me, you place the ability to speak.
When I speak Lord, let me speak of your grandeur, your glory, and your love.
When I speak, let me reflect your love, care, and compassion.
Before words come out of my mouth, put in my heart a moment of thoughtfulness about you and about your love.
Before I speak, touch my mind with your wisdom.
Before I speak, brush aside my anger, my hurt, my frustrations, and all the dark matters that so easily make me say things I would regret.
In place of the dark matters of my heart and mind, place your light of love.
In place of things selfish, place the things of your kingdom that call me to unselfishness.
Let all the words and thoughts of my being sing praises to you.
Help me understand how much others need you and how much they crave your love in their heart.
Let all the words that come from my lips reflect the bounty of your blessings upon my life.
Most of all, before I speak, help me to stop for just a moment and truly seek to be your humble child.
In the name of the Precious Savior, Wonderful Lord God, and the In-filling Holy Spirit upon whom we can rely.
Amen
