A Prayer To Build A Treasure For The Future
Most Precious Lord Jesus, Gentle And Wonderful God,
Truly Awesome And Ever-present Holy Spirit,
Thank you for my life.
Thank you for the days, months, and years you have given me.
Although the times of my past have not always been good times, I have had
you beside me, over me, under me, and within me.
I can see ahead into my future and I can see a future.
When I look far enough ahead, I can see you standing by the gates of
heaven, smiling and waiting for me to join you.
According to your will, my days on earth may be many or few in number.
Of the days I have left, I shall dedicate these days to you and I shall
see these days as a treasure you have given me for nurturing and
safekeeping.
In my present and future days, give me a heart and a way to shine the
light of your love into the hearts of others.
In whatever way is possible for you, let me be a shining beacon of your
caring, kindness, and compassion.
When I grow weary of these days I spend walking your path, inspire me to
see you more clearly and inspire me to rest more completely in your tender
care.
When I grow tired while I try to do your work, let me know of your
presence in every circumstance.
Touch me so I may experience your glory and give this glory to others.
Touch me so I may experience your love and comfort, and show me the way to
share your love and comfort with others.
All these things I humbly pray in the name of my most Blessed Lord Jesus
Christ, my Mighty God, and my Ever-present Holy Spirit upon whom I can
rely.
